Our Lineage

Our vision is to share and preserve the techniques passed down to us by our teachers, Sifu Tim Tackett, Sifu Bob Bremer and Sifu Jim Sewell.

Our goal is to provide Jeet Kune Do practitioners from all over the world access to the most complete Chinatown Jeet Kune Do video tutorials and training program available.

Tim Tackett

Tim began his JKD journey in 1971, as part of the backyard JKD group Dan Inosanto began after Bruce Lee had closed his L.A. Chinatown school shortly before moving to Hong Kong to star in The Big Boss.

The class consisted of about 10 students including Bob Bremer, Dan Lee, Richard Bustillo, Jerry Poteet, and Pete Jacobs. Later Chris Kent, Ted Lucaylucay, and Jeff Imada joined a second class.

In 1973, Dan Inosanto honored Tim with the rank of Senior First and he was given permission to teach a small Jeet Kune Do group, and has continued to teach JKD to a select number of students in his garage and in seminars worldwide.

Bob Bremer

Bob Bremer was one of Bruce Lee's original students from the Los Angeles Chinatown era.

He saw Bruce demonstrate Jeet Kune Do and immediately enrolled at Bruce’s school in LA in 1967 (where he was known as the “enforcer” of the school). He was fortunate enough to train with Bruce at both the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute and also as a private student.

Bob’s impact on the Jeet Kune Do presented here is immeasurable. He was one of the few people to remember specific principles and techniques taught by Bruce and is one of the main reasons these techniques still exist today.

Jim Sewell

Jim Sewell was one of the original Bruce Lee students from the Chinatown era, and was introduced to JKD by Bob Bremer and decided to join the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute on the spot. He received his 1st Rank certificate from Bruce Lee in January of 1968.

After a 20 year absence he became active in JKD again as part of Sifu Tim Tackett’s garage group in Redlands. Jim never wanted to become an instructor in JKD and was interested in the art simply to learn how to be a better fighter, but remainded a constant presence and mentor to old and new students in Sifu Tackett's garage.
